Scheduling an Appointment

Our clinic is open for appointments 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays. Availability of specific practitioners does vary due to surgery scheduling. If you are unable to keep an appointment, please let us know so we will be able to see someone else who may be ill.

We do our best to see patients on time. However, emergencies, surgical delays, patients requiring extra time, and other unforeseen circumstances can often make waiting unavoidable.

In order to make your visit as convenient and "hassle" free as possible, we request that your provide us with the following information:

  • Patient Demographics
    • Name and date of birth
    • Home phone number and work phone number
    • Primary care doctor and referring physician
    • Insurance information and referral authorization number if required by their insurance carrier
  • Referring Diagnosis - and type of exam/procedure being requested
  • Previous Films and Reports - please bring any recent relevant ultrasounds, x-rays, CT's, MRI's and PET scans with you for your visit
  • Current Medications - including dose and frequency
  • Current Herbals and Vitamins - including dose and frequency
  • Insurance Card - and referral if required

New patients and patients who have not been seen in over a year should arrive at Swedish Urology Group 15 minutes before their scheduled examination, unless otherwise noted.

Making An Appointment

To make an appointment, please dial 206.386.6266 and select option 4. If you require medical attention, please call ahead rather than coming into the office without an appointment.

All calls are initially answered by our automated directory; for the reception desk, select option 4. Our medical receptionists are here to meet your scheduling needs and all reception calls are answered by a "live" voice, not a recording, unless all of our lines are busy. If the medical receptionists are busy with other callers, our phone system will sequence your incoming call on a first call basis. You can help us by having available all pertinent information that will be requested:

  • Your name
  • Your regular doctor
  • The nature of your problem
  • When you would be available for an appointment
  • Changes in registration such as phone number, address, or insurance.

This information will enable our medical receptionists to handle your calls more effectively. Our receptionists are trained and experienced and can provide the same care and concern that you have become familiar with in the past. Please share our trust in their abilities by allowing them to handle your needs in the future. All information will be kept strictly confidential!

We also encourage you to make a return appointment before leaving the office. If you require an appointment with a specialist, our receptionists would be more than happy to book that for you while you are at the clinic.

Should you need medical attention after office hours, our doctors are always available by phone when we are closed. Our medical answering service will take your call; our on call provider will be notified and will return your call. Of course, in the case of a life-threatening illness or emergency, dial 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.


Please notify us as soon as possible if you are unable to keep an appointment or need one changed so that we can accommodate another patient. Failure to cancel 24 hours prior to the appointment time may incur a fee charged directly to you.

Prescription Renewals

We encourage patients to request refills from their pharmacy who will then contact our office. You may also leave a message on your doctor's nurses' line. If you have not been seen in our office for over a year, you will be asked to make a follow up appointment so that we can monitor your care.

Test Results

Our computerized environment speeds up the waiting time of most standard testing by our phlebotomy and pathology lab. This also helps protect the environment by eliminating the need for a paper report.

The great volume of these reports coming into the clinic on a daily basis makes it impossible to report normal test results to every patient. You will be informed of abnormal test results only. A return appointment for you to see your doctor will be made if necessary. If you have not heard from us and are wondering about your results, please leave a message on our test results line (206-386-6266, option 2).

Nursing Assistance

Our entire staff acts as a team to help with patient requests for assistance or information and discuss questions with the doctors to resolve the problem. Our medical receptionists will refer all patient medical questions to the nursing staff or you can bypass the reception desk by selecting option 3 from our phone tree. Our dedicated nurses have been carefully trained to assist the doctors in patient examinations and procedures. They will assess your medical needs and assist you as needed. As nurses are frequently caring for patients currently present at the clinic, please allow up to two hours for their response to your voicemail. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please dial 911.

After Hours and Emergencies

The doctors are available after office hours for emergencies by telephoning the regular office number. If the problem requires immediate urological care, you will be directed to the nearest emergency room. Requests for prescription renewals are only handled during normal office hours.


Your medical records are confidential and no part of your medical history will be given to your employer, friends or relatives without your written permission, except as required by law. Your written authorization is required to submit charges to your insurance company. You will be asked to sign a consent form for procedures performed at surgery centers or hospitals.
