Phillip H. Chapman, M.D.

Dr. Chapman was born in the Northwest and raised in Seattle.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in molecular physics and biochemistry from Yale College in 1982, and graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1987.  He completed his residency in urologic surgery at the University of Kentucky in 1992, and returned to Seattle to join Swedish Urology Group, Seattle's oldest continuing urologic private practice.

Dr. Chapman has developed and maintained skills in surgical management of urologic conditions in complex patients.  He has acquired expertise and received additional training in advanced laparoscopic surgery, management of bladder, kidney, and prostate cancers, laser and shockwave therapy for urinary stones, new treatments for urinary incontinence, microsurgery, microwave thermotherapy and minimally invasive surgeries for prostate enlargement, and management of complex urologic issues in kidney transplant patients.

Dr. Chapman was elected Chief of Urology at Swedish Medical Center between 1998 and 2002. He served on the board of the King County Medical Society, and was its President in 2006.

He has been named as one of "Seattle's Best Doctors" in 13 separate magazines since 2004.  While this may be gratifying recognition, Dr. Chapman continues his strong interest in working hard to achieve the highest quality of life for his patients;  "we're really only as good as the outcome of the next patient we treat."
